4 Consider the conditions
Before you decide to start your project it would be advisable to check the weather forecast. Painting in poor conditions can greatly compromise the paint job even indoors. Avoid painting if there is a chance of rain as interrupting the work can affect the overall look to the completed project.
For many paints, it is recommended that you do not paint below 5oC which not only applies to the air temperature but also the substrate you wish to paint. Painting in cold conditions causes the paint not to spread so evenly, slow down the drying time therefore allowing airborne debris and insects to stick.
As it is inadvisable to paint below 5oC it is also not recommended to paint in direct sunlight or where the air temperature and substrate is 30oC. As the paint dries forming a film, if the drying process is accelerated it may greatly compromise the durability.
